Heidelberg – Tragic accident . In Heidelberg , a man ( 39) was killed by a falling branch late Saturday afternoon .
Around 5 p.m., police and rescue services were called to an incident in the Handschuhsheim district, according to officials.
The 39-year-old was reportedly struck by a falling branch at a children’s playground in Rottmannstrasse for reasons that are still unclear.
“Immediate first aid measures were unsuccessful, and the man succumbed to his injuries,” the Mannheim police headquarters announced that same evening.
As part of the operation, Rottmannstraße was closed until about 6:40 pm.
“The Heidelberg Criminal Police Directorate has taken over further investigations,” the officers concluded.
